Sleepy Bear Lodge is an exceptional vacation property. The views are stunning, the house is beautiful, and the location is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. Upon arrival, the house was absolutely spotless - perhaps the cleanest place we have ever stayed! Everything we would need was provided for, although we did have to run out and re-stock some basics midweek (paper towels, TP, dish soap). Cort was a pleasure to deal with and guided us through a couple questions throughout our stay. NOTE: The driveway is steep. After snowing 18" in 24hrs, we were fine with a Subaru & snow tires, other guests were not so fortunate! Thankfully Cort arranged to have the driveway plowed in short order. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and don't hesitate to recommend Sleepy Bear Lodge as one of the premier vacation properties in the White Mountains. You will not be disappointed!

The home is well stocked with everything you need for your stay. The views are lovely and the silence is golden. The bedrooms are spacious and baths are very nice. There is hiking all over and many attractions to visit. Make sure you visit Polly’s Pancake Parlor & Cold Mountain Cafe if you’re eating out.

Beautiful home on a high hill with beautiful mountains and valley views, including views of Cannon Mountain. Eleven adults and one child, very comfortable with lots of shared living space. It would be hard to find anything lacking in this gorgeous home. We used all three bedrooms and found them exceedingly comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed with high-end appliances and accessories. The location is ideal (completely private but easy access to town)and the mountain views just can't be beat. We enjoyed the wild turkeys on the lawn (up to 13 one day) and regular visits of chipmunks and songbirds. A mama bear with two adorable cubs were spotted several times up the road. The house is stylish, immaculately clean and well-laid out for multiple guest privacy. The property management is extremely accessible and helpful. I would stay here again and recommend this house with enthusiasm.

We rented the Sleepy Bear Lodge the week of my daughters wedding and we couldn't have been happier! It's a beautiful, comfortable place that made us feel right at home during a busy but happy time! The wonderful decor fits the log cabin well and there are many unique touches! We loved the open concept, which made visits from our family very comfortable and allowed us to enjoy special meals together. And the view is spectacular! Absolutely stunning! The home was spotless and had everything we needed to have a truly relaxing and wonderful family vacation. We could not have asked for more. There were beautiful views and abundant wildlife. We enjoyed seeing a porcupine and wild turkeys several times in the backyard. Most exciting was watching from the front porch as a black bear walked right across the driveway and through the front lawn. Two families (10 of us, all adults) shared Sleepy Bear Lodge to attend a wedding in Franconia, as the cousins all wanted to hang out together rather than be in separate places. It was a fantastic weekend at a great property! The lodge is spacious and immaculate with a large deck on the back side of the house overlooking the mountains. The basement is newly renovated and everyone had plenty of room to move or to have privacy as needed. It was within easy driving distance of area attractions in addition to where we needed to be for the wedding. We all loved this place and would stay here again if back in the area. Highly recommended!

We had a great family getaway. Home was clean and beautifully decorated. Kitchen contained everything you needed or wanted. Only thing in the house we thought could use some improvement, were the mattresses. Also, the info on the home rental should state clearly that four wheel drive is a must to get out of the steep driveway. One member of our family didn't have four wheel drive and it snowed overnight making getting out of the driveway impossible. We found a tiny bit of dirt to spread and some pushing got them out. Took a while. Plently of dirt should have been provided or when plowed, dirt applied.

  Thanks for having chosen Sleepy Bear, though thanks more & still for your Great understanding and Awesome attitude. What Mr. Chase does not mention here is that on the last afternoon-night of a their stay, our area experienced a wicked thunderstorm which actually & truly impacted the house... leaving them without power & water till after check-out. Turns out that the well pump, along with many other appliances & electronics got struck, needed replacement, and the owner worked DOUBLE time to get all critical systems repaired & back to good order within 48 hours. These guests "got a light show" like few others have seen here!!

We had a wonderful stay at Sleepy Bear Lodge. The property was incredibly beautiful! Definitely the nicest rental I have ever stayed at! Feels like you are walking into a design magazine! Beautiful details, very well thought out and designed space. We could not have asked for a nicer spot and the view was gorgeous! The only issue was a pretty strong odor in the house. It was strange because it was immaculate. After speaking with the rental company it seems that it could be a sulfur in the water issue or perhaps the wood still curing. Not sure and it seemed like they were definitely on top of it, but it did take away from our stay. It was hard to tolerate unless we were cooking and the smells from the kitchen would over power it. Like I said, it was really strange because the property is so beautiful and perfect in every other way!

WOW! This cabin is so beautiful! The attention to detail in the design, decoration and amenities is amazing. My family of 6 had an incredible time staying in the cabin, and the location is great. You feel like you're 100 miles from civilization but you're actually about 2 miles from a little town area and very close to Flume Gorge (which is awesome). Franconia Notch Vacations was also a pleasure to deal with, very organized and the whole rental process was very simple, including getting the keys when we arrived late at night. Only "downside" I can think of is that we loved being in the cabin so much we were always reluctant to leave to go do things.

Overall the home is gorgeous, it was immaculately cleaned for our arrival. The views were very nice. The location felt secluded even though there were other homes in the area. This was a top notch destination for my family to spend there vacation. The only very minor complaint would be the quality of the mattress in the master bedroom. This would not stop me from recommending this home to anyone. When you stay here you are in the heart of the white mountains with a short drive to many of the attractions.
